Okapi Coins – Terms & Conditions

Effective Date: Monday, 13 July 2026

Welcome to the Okapi loyalty programme. By joining and participating in the programme, you agree to the following Terms & Conditions.

 

1. Membership

1.1. The Okapi loyalty programme is free to join.

1.2. Membership is available to customers who create an account on the Okapi website.

1.3. Coins are linked to your registered customer account and are non-transferable. Coins may not be sold, assigned, or transferred to another person or account. Coins are referred to as “coins” from here on out.

 

2. Earning Coins

Members earn loyalty coins on qualifying purchases made through the official Okapi website only, for delivery within South Africa only.

2.1. Coins are credited once payment has been successfully received and the order has been delivered.

2.2. Okapi reserves the right to exclude certain promotional items, clearance items, gift cards, or special offers from earning loyalty coins.

2.3. Coins will only be awarded on eligible products purchased directly through the official Okapi website.

2.4. Coins may take up to 24 hours after order completion to appear in your loyalty account.

2.5. Loyalty coins are calculated on the final purchase price actually paid, excluding any discounts, promotional reductions, coupon codes, vouchers, gift card redemptions, store credits, or any other price adjustments. Coins are awarded only on the final amount paid for eligible products.

 

3. Coin Value

The conversion rate for loyalty coins is:

Coins have no cash value and cannot be exchanged for cash.

 

4. Redeeming Coins

4.1. Coins may only be redeemed on purchases made through the official Okapi website.

4.2. Coins may be redeemed as a discount against eligible purchases.

4.3. Coins cannot be exchanged for cash or used to purchase gift cards unless otherwise specified by Okapi.

4.4. Loyalty coins may not be used in conjunction with certain promotional offers where stated.

4.5. Loyalty coins are earned only on the final amount paid after all discounts, promotional offers, vouchers, coupons, gift card redemptions, store credits, and redeemed loyalty coins have been applied. No loyalty coins will be awarded on any discounted or redeemed portion of a purchase.

 

5. Returns & Refunds

5.1. If an item that earned loyalty coins is returned, cancelled, or refunded, the corresponding loyalty coins will be deducted from your account.

5.2. If coins earned from the returned purchase have already been redeemed, Okapi reserves the right to deduct the equivalent value from your refund or adjust your loyalty balance accordingly.

 

6. Expiry of Coins

6.1. Loyalty coins expire 24 months from the date they are earned unless otherwise communicated by Okapi.

6.2. Expired coins cannot be reinstated or redeemed.

 

7. Account Responsibility

7.1. Members are responsible for maintaining accurate account information.

7.2. Members are responsible for keeping their login credentials secure.

7.3. Okapi is not responsible for any loss of loyalty coins resulting from unauthorised access caused by compromised account credentials.

 

8. Fraud & Abuse

8.1. Okapi reserves the right to suspend or terminate any loyalty account suspected of fraud, abuse, or misuse of the programme.

8.2. Coins awarded in error may be removed from a member's account without notice.

8.3. Any decision made by Okapi regarding fraud or misuse of the programme shall be final.

 

9. Programme Changes

9.1. Okapi may amend or discontinue the Loyalty Programme at any time.

9.2. This includes changes to:

  • Coins earning rates
  • Redemption values
  • Eligible products
  • Programme benefits
  • These Terms & Conditions

Changes become effective once published on the Okapi website.

 

10. Programme Cancellation

Should the Loyalty Programme be discontinued, Okapi will provide reasonable notice and, where practicable, allow members an opportunity to redeem any valid remaining coins before the programme ends.

 

11. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Okapi shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential loss arising from participation in the Loyalty Programme.

 

12. Privacy

Your personal information will be processed in accordance with the Okapi Privacy Policy and the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA).

 

13. Governing Law

These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa.

Any disputes arising from the Loyalty Programme shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the South African courts.
